على أغصان الشجرة العارية 

تعزف الريح

‏On the strepper boughs; 

‏The wind plays.

في الغربة، 

صهيل الذاكرة؛ 

يزداد الحنين. 

‏In edginess, 

‏Memory whiny; 

‏Yearning increases.

وردة متفتحة، 

في طريقها للنهاية؛ 

أنثى مهملة. 

‏Blooming rose, 

‏On her way to the end; 

‏Neglectful female.

الصقر يقتنص، 

البومة المتفاخرة  

بعيونها. 

‏The falcon hunts, 

the owl which is proud of its eyes.

عالقة بين الاشواك، 

أغصان الوردة اليافعة؛ 

تهزها الريح. 

‏Besieged among the thorns, 

‏The adolescent rose boughs; 

‏The wind shakes them.

البوم صور، 

كم من الذكريات تحملها 

أيها القمر؟! 

‏A photo album; 

‏How many memories do you have.. 

oh moon?!

تضاهي سبائك الذهب؛ 

سنابل القمح. 

‏Yellow braids,

تمتطي صهوة الليل؛ 

شمس راحلة. 

في أحضان الظلام، 

تنام ويزهو القمر

‏Sunset, 

‏Rides the night's saddle; 

‏Departing sun.

‏In the darkness cuddles; 

‏You sleep and the moon shines.
